I think that all children have the innate ability to learn if given the chance to get a quality schooling. Every kid is unique and with guidance and support can use their special gift to make a difference in themselves and our world. Children require the following basic needs from their teacher and school community and they are: support, safe and positive school and classroom surroundings, understanding of their particular needs, security and a variety of opportunities to learn by incorporating the multiple intelligences and learning styles of each and every student.
The general aim is to generate a classroom community of leaders. As a teacher it is important that I communicate to not only my students but also the parents the importance of an schooling. It is my desire to make definite that my classroom is conducive to establishing high standards and goals for all children that enter my classroom by incorporating hands on and minds on activities that activate my student âs prior knowledge and engage them in their learning. My role as a teacher is to make definite that all my students are receiving grade level standards in through modeling, guided practice, and independent practice. I must be obtainable to all my students to provide them with the necessary support needed to improve their growth in all aspects of schooling.
Also, allowing the scholars to make use of their knowledge and the tools provided to discover and implement through other outlets to answer questions or issue solve. Providing students access to hands on activities and allowing adequate time and space to make use of materials that reinforce the lesson being studied creates a chance for individual discovery and construction of knowledge to occur.
My aim is to generate learners who have selfefficacy and selfesteem, which in turn will generate life long learners. I think that it is important that children lean in a kid centered surroundings versus direct instruction. Kid centered instruction allows the kid to discover new knowledge and use the knowledge gained and apply it to other aspects of their learning system. It is important to encourage and involve the scholars in their own learning through cooperative learning and independent learning opportunities that are fun and thrilling. My final aim is to instill in my students the importance of receiving and schooling and to become life long learners who prosper on always desirous to learn increasingly.
